b) SEARCH

From my experience and research I have come up with the following conclusions, though most is based on putting new shoes on my Mercedes cars, as well as my SUVs:

1. Michelin is the best. If it comes in your size and specs, you can never go wrong with Michelin. (But, see 3, below.)

2. Dunlops are the noisiest. When OEM, get rid of them as soon as possible. For some reason their hide is not as tough as Michelin's, either. Some of them look great, but you can't see your tires when you are driving.

3. For runflats, until Michelin enters the market big time, the only player with good enough tires for Bimmers is Bridgestone. When Michelin fully enters the market (I think right now it has a couple of sizes of RFs), check the reviews from those who have bought the RFs to see if Michelins are up to par.

I had the Pirelli's on my '04 Acura TL and they were AWESOME! I don't know how they would do on a BMW, but I had the Bridgestone Turanza's before that and it was night and day. The traction in wet weather and snow was superb! I highly recommend them.

yea i think im gunna go for the pirellis, cuz bridgestone just plain blows....michelins are really expensive, and my last tires(michelin) didnt even reach 30,000 miles....PS2 are way too expensive but come in the sizes im looking at for my new wheels. the PE2 Exaltos are REALLY nice and only 150 each, but they only go to 17 inch wheels, and im looking for 18's. Im gunna try the pzero nero m+s cuz they come in the exact size and are only 130 at tirerach which means theyll be damn cheap at costco...

Sounds like you simply wanted validation of what you were doing which, strangely, you didn't get! And, rather than looking for the best tire, you were looking for the cheapest. Sorry we couldn't be of help, but good luck.
