We are still in Munich and are about to leave for home tomorrow. While on our vacation, we scratched the rim of the front tire somehow. We asked a dealership here in Munich if and how it can be fixed. They recommended to paint the rim with a special paint. My question is: should I tell them about the scratches when I drop off the car here in Munich and have them fix it or wait till the car gets to the U.S. to have it fixed?

They will take care of it if you tell them to. You could also file a claim with the insurance company.... I scratched my rim and just told Harms they said it would be fixed no questions asked. Do not worry about it! Best of luck!

I scratched my rim too. Harms told me to contact Gerling Insurance. They in turn asked me to fax them the "yellow" insurance form and a short report of what happened. They approved the repair, handed it over to BMWNA and it is being done as we speak at the VDC (Port NEAT, NJ).
Heads up... it will delay your re-delivery... (I am on pins and needles, still waiting!!)

Same thing happened to me, notify the German insurance company and make sure Harms makes note. With any luck the VPC will fix it but it may take an extra week or 2. (They replaced my whole wheel)
