Looking for some advice...
I'll be picking up my first bimmer the 30th of this month (European Delivery). I've travelled to Germany a few times before and will be doing Hofbrauhaus, Oktoberfest, and taking some newbies to Neuschwanstein. But on the day I get the car, because I basically will only have it one day, I wanted to take a short road trip somewhere nice for lunch etc. Hopefully get out on the A8 somewhere for a nice drive, stop and get back in time to drop off the car. Herein lies my question; Any good suggestions on where to go? Thanks to all!

Are you looking to drive fast, twisty roads, or both?

I'd recommend going south to Innsbruck, going across the Brenner Paß and once you reach Sterzing, just turning around and going back. It´s not short but it will be a great drive.
Otherwise, if you want shorter, go to Salzburg and back.

Another option is south towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen and then cut over on the Alpenstrasse towards Bodensee. If the weather is nice, continue until you hit the Bodensee, stop for a lakeside lunch and make an autobahn run back. Figure on about 3 to 3.5 hours to the Bodensee and about 2.5 to 3 hours back. If this is too tight, you can jump off the Alpenstrasse at a good midway point, grab something to eat at one of the many interesting towns or gasthauses along the way, and make your way back via the Autobahn.
Unless your looking for a specific site, the least amount of traffic (in addition to the greatest smiles per mile) will be south of Munich - southeast for the drive into Austria and the Brennerpass (as Jonathan suggested) or south/south west for the Alpenstrasse and Bodensee.
On the other hand, it looks like you'll be southwest of Munich anyway with the trip to Füssen for Neuschwanstein so if you wanted something of a different flavor, Jonathan's day trip recommendation sounds ideal.
Munich to Dachau is 30 minutes. Munich to Augsburg is an hour. The autobahn to both of these locations is through relatively urban areas so you'll have traffic problems to consider and most (if not all) speed limited (IIRC 120kph and less in some locations).
