Driving Signs in Germany & Italy?

ok I have looked over the net and read page after page about driving in Europe. I will be visiting Gramany, Austria, Italy.. Any personal tips. I know apout the Toll's, but are there any signs that just dont make since? I have visited Europe about 7 time and this will be my first time driving.

You will receive a book full of maps and routes between major cities from BMWNA as part of your ED package. The back cover has all the major traffic signs shown graphically and what they mean. I would have never guessed the meaning of some.

Many of the the signs are pretty intuitive. The good thing is very few of them are specific to the country as they all use the international signage.

I haven't done the search, but I bet a google of international road signs would give you some additional info to what apperently comes in your ED package.

Just note that "Ausfahrt" signs in Germany mean "Exit" and aren't pointing to a town by that name...

Just be aware of ,,Wer von rechts kommt, hat Vorfahrt.`` (Who comes from the right has priority). This is the case unless you are on a priority road, where you will see a sign indicating that you are on a priority road (Vorfahrtstrassen-Schild).

Ohhh...good one. I almost got stung by that one several times because I was looking for stripes painted on the road like they do in the UK.
