 *** Bmw Subframe Action ***

I am a member of the E46Fanatics forum and I am searching for anyone who has had sub frame tears. So far I have 60 names and phone numbers of members with sub frame tears ranging from members who have tons of mods to some with none. BMW of Germany has labeled the sub frame tears as non safety related due to the low number of occurances, but yet they have released bullentons for FREE inspections and Free repairs of all sub frames for E46 models (confirmed) and Z4,Z3 models (mentioned to me but not confirmed). These repairs costs millions considering the amount of vehicles sold for BMW of Germany, yet BMWNA has chosen to look at cases indivually, meaning paying only for those persons who have done their research and are willing to go through great lengths to get what it owes to them. Why? MONEY! Out of 60 names only 5 have had BMWNA pick up the tab! There are lawsuits … there are posts all over, there are after market parts sold for reinforcement of BMW sub frames. I have messages and emails from member who have fixed as many 3 sub frames from 3 different BMWs starting from a 1992 325 and some who have fixed their sub frame 3 times on the same car! Regardless of word combinations BMW uses to disguise the issue, sub frame tears do compromise the drivablilty of the vehicle and in the cases of E46s and maybe the other models as well, they are SAFETY ISSUES! Bmw has jeopardized the lives and safety of its owners as well as our occumpants, wifes, children, family, and friends, so that they can save a little $$$$!!! That makes me mad and it should make you mad as well.

I am working with channel 4 news here in San Francisco. I promised to provide them with at least 100 names and phone numbers to prove that these are not isolated incidents and that BMW has been negligent in its handling of complaints and concerns. As soon as I have their commitment to peruse the story, I will call the PR person at BMW USA 800-831-1117 and bring them up to date of what I have been up to since our last conversation. I think anyone who has either had or currently have sub frame problems and still have their vehicle deserve not only reimbursement but some type of compensation for devaluing our vehicles.
With all the new BMWs due to be released in 2006 and 2007, and in addition to all the new VERY VERY competitive vehicles, I’m sure it will be in their best interest to hush us up now before I am able to get this on the air. If this segment does air, I plan to copy the programming and I will send out a copy to anyone who has sent me their information on DVD free of charge for all the help in getting this on the air. This can then be sent to their local news stations for more exposure. BMW USA saved millions by handling the sub frame issues case by case.

Why are some fixed free of charge and some are not? Why is it that BMW of Germany sent out a bulletin and fixes sub frames free of charge w/o question? With all the money BMW has saved by not fixing all BMWs with sub frame tears it wont kill them to compensate the ones that are willing to put the work into receiving at least a little compensation.

My two (2) M Rdstrs were repaired by my local dealer (authorized by BMWNA); serial numbers LC89268 & LJ80510. My dealer incorporated my reinforcement pieces into the repair for both cars, though a different variation was used for the S-54 (E-36 M3 dual mounting ear differential cover).

I have since performed the same work on a dozen or so M Coupe/Rdstrs and a lone Z3 3.0 (I won't give out the owners names or vehicle ID #'s). Also, I have sold about twenty (20) reinforcment kits for owners or their shop of choice to install.
