 No factory tours 12/12 ->12 /31

Just an FYI for those doing ED in December:

Hello, Mr. Lockwood:

Unfortunately, the Munich Factory is closed from 12/12 through 12/31...no tours are held during this time.

I apologize for your disappointment.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Bienert

Once again, I strongly recommend AGAINST doing deliveries from late November through mid March - unless you plan on buying four snows or are getting an AWD with all weather tires.

My last two EDs were Nov + Jan. First stop is the snow chain shop. I lived in Zurich over the heavy Winter of '99 with regular E46 multi-season tires and survived (with care and using chains once in a while). Anyone sticking to major motorways should be fine, it is only at elevation and on minor roads that you may have real problems.

For those who have not used them: snow chains transform the car in snow but you cannot travel fast and they are a real pain to install/ remove. Somewhat better than being stuck though.

Nov-> March is THE time to ski + enjoy Europe without the crowds. Do bring a warm jacket though!

January normally has the heaviest snow. Germany is very used to snow and they are well prepared for it. I'll be blogging our trip so watch out for starting on Dec 20th:
