 FYI: ED Insurance coverage

Hello everybody!
New to this forum and I will p/u my X3 on Dec 12th and return in Munchen on Jan 8th.Due to the fact that I will drive to AUSTRIA,ITALY,HUNGARY AND ROMANIA(my place of birth) I emailed ED with a question in regards to the Insurance coverage and the answer was:

Thank you for choosing the BMW European Delivery Program. The insurance coverage is for all of Europe. BMW Financial Services allows leased customers to also travel in all of Europe. If you are leasing the X3 through an outside leasing company then you would need to check if they have any travel restrictions.

Regards,

Joseph Archer

European Delivery Coordinator

I called ED also to make sure that Eastern EUROPE is covered and they said yes there is NO RESTRICTIONS.

Just took a look at my POLICY dated May 20 2005. There are a couple of European countries your are not covered in.

Here is the LIST

Iraq
Iran
Malta
Tunisia (Northern Africa)
There's one more marked out "II" I dont know this one. (Maybe Iceland)

Hope this helps

I guess you'd consider Malta to be European - but Iran and Iraq and Tunisia? Wonder what they'd have to charge to provivde insurance coverage for Iraq?

He's just pointing out the exceptions that are listed in the Gerling Insurance declaration that gets handed to you at time of delivery.
