Just got a call from someone at NYK shipping that they don't have the key to the car. She said that there were able to get the car of the ship "somehow" (tow??), but now need the key to move the car around and want me to fedEx them the spare key. What a bunch of clowns - I am fuming on how irresponsible BMW and NYK can be. How the hell did they get the car onto the ship without a key?? anyone have the ED tel#... and tips or ideas on what I should do at this point??

How do you track your car once you drop it off at Harms. I asked the Harms paperwork person and was quoted 6 weeks.

I had a key to a mini-cooper under my seat which I found a few days after my M3 was delivered. I thought they were being nice, and giving me a small car to drive around town, with my M3 reserved for longer trips!
I never found out if it was NYK or my local dealer who left the key in there.

Before shipping the key, let your dealer know about this situation. I would have them make a spare key, in case something else happens to your only key.

He has left a VM with customer care (bmw) for the spare key and we are waiting to hear back from them (probably tomorrow). I have told him that I dont plan to ship the key - this is ridiculous. Tried calling ED (800 932 0831) helpdesk as well but they close at 4:30 eastern. Left them a VM and plan to hammer them tomorrow......
I am really disappointed with BMW....
