Thanks to Liverman and Jspira for suggesting the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. While I'm on my Google Earth kick, I looked up what I believe to be the road. I had to reduce the image some to keep it manageable in size, but within GE it's more detailed and pretty amazing - and this doesn't even show the several thousand foot elevation change up then back down!!! Follow the light blue/black line that starts down in Heiligenblut and wind your way North. This ought to exercise the clutch, brakes, and vary the rpm's. Not to mention my arms :-)
And Jonathan, I'll be sure to try the Salzburger Nockerl while in Salzburg.

This is on my itinerary, but my question is.... will the road be open in mid-October?

From the web site (http://www.grossglockner.com/service/) it looks like it's open from beginning of May to end of October. I do imagine weather could be a factor at the beginning and end of the season.

Quote: One thing: you must order it at the start of your meal - it takes a while to make correctly (and I've made it).
