I noticed that earlier in the year (Jan 1-Mar 27) BMW kicked in up to $560 for the first ticket in the 2 for 1 deal, and later (Mar 27-Dec 31) it was just 2 for 1. We're thinking of doing ED next year and wondered if these promotions get renewed every year. What has previous experience been?

Just buy it from any travel agent or online sites like orbitz, expedia (not preferred as they have fees), hotwire, airlines themselves....usually each ticket you can buy from these sites are the same price of what Lufthansa charges you for the deal.
