I'm going to Munich on 10/20 and just did a search for the best non stop fare from JFK.
The best offer I got was $603 on travelocity. Can anyone tell me if that's a good deal or not.
I'm flying solo. Is anybody interested in doing the 2 for 1 offer together and splitting the cost because I've seen someone mention a $970 cost for this BMW offer.

Google for airline consolidators - they'll have the best deals. I was lucky enough to score a $500 RT ticket from Houston to Munich going this route. Fares change all the time, so you just need to check regularly to get the best deal. A few you can try are:

actually, you can call the 2 for 1 desk, and tell them that you are flying solo. I understand that they can probably hook you up w/ a fare that is equivalent the 2 for 1 rate divide by 2

hey b7, i think i saw a round trip airfare going through air india or something for like around mid $400 at bookingbuddy.com. at kayak it was in the $600 non stop. y don't u do 1 connecting flight through frankfurt or heathrow? it's much cheaper that way. on ur offer, ur about 1 week too late for me or else i would have taken it up with u, my pick up is on 10/10. 2 for 1 through lufthansa was defintely a steal of a deal for me at $970 for 2.

Quote: | hey b7, i think i saw a round trip airfare going through air india . | I travel a lot internationally and I always stick to the larger carriers in the market, a category alas that Air India does not fall into.
Usually I fly AA JFK to LHR (Flagship Suites up front) and connect via BA. Sometimes for short trips I fly direct (took Austrian back from Vienna last month, great flight).
I'm sure someone will disagree about Air India but personally I can't see myself taking them.

For those willing to risk a delayed flight NYC-LHR/FRA on Air India J (Business) is excellent value for money. Mechanically Air India planes will be fine (well maintained). In cattle-class however you truly get cattle class treatment. However in J/F the experience can be very different. This is all based on flyertalk; never flown AI myself.
