I built my exact same car on bmw.co.uk (UK site) - and the cost of the car with all the options (they have 2.5 liter for the 325 as opposed to 3.0l here) came out to 32,840 pounds. Converting to $, it came out to alittle over $60k. With price of gas at $6.5/gallon and the car costing 60 grands, you can still see more BMW's there than in an average US city (well, bay area probably has more BMW's than Munich does).
Are the average salary's more than what people make in the US?? I was just wondering on how people afford this in Europe and specially UK.

I was just wondering on how people afford this in Europe and specially UK. | Let me know give you a straight answer: first of all, most BMWs in Europe donīt end up with all of the options we load into ours. Second, Europeans tend to hold on to their cars longer. Distant Third, there are a lot of year-old cars for sale by employees, who sell them for slightly more than they paid or at break even - i.e. employee pricing. That benefits those who buy them.

My husband is British, and all of his family is in England. Salaries are definitely lower there than here. However, companies often pay for your lease (up to a certain % of your salary) after you've worked there for a certain number of years (like 10). That's how my brother-in-law got his 325...
