One month after drop-off and I don't know where my car is...

I dropped it off in Vienna on July 25. The staff said it would be on a truck to Munich the next day. It's been almost a month and I have not heard or received any information about my car. The dealer said there is no update in the system either.

I had the impression people doing ED were receiving some mail from BMW NA regarding their car and the ship. Is this unusual not to hear or have any update on the car for almost one month after the drop-off?

You get a letter letting you know that the car has arrived at VPC.

Don't be frustrated when this does not work. IIrc this is ineffective for NYK Lines on which all west coast ED's have been shipping. Two ways to proceed: Email Harms dropoff and ask for ship data or call BMW ED desk: 800.932.0831.

Good luck with your quest. You should be receiving your car in about four weeks.

I got my letter less than a week before the ship reached port.

Same here. Maybe it's because we two (will-san's car and mine) are on the same boat, but I didn't get my letter until about a week ago, after it had already gone through the Panama canal...

For me, the quickest way to get info on which ship my car was on was to email the shipping office where I dropped off my car, ttroissy in Paris for me. They replied by email within minutes. You can find the email address for your dropoff location from the BMW site, here http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/...ry/dropoff.htm .
