i have an oct. 10 pickup for ed and am trying to find lowest cost from philly to frankfurt or amsterdam. I 've compared all prices from orbitz to expedia and the lufthansa 1 for 2 deal and they all seem to give me a price range of $750-880 round trip per person. have anybody tried name ur own price from priceline? what's the lowest u've gotten (name departing/entry city)? any other catch to that program other than what's listed as having to accept midnight to midnight for that particular day, up to 1 possible connection and no refunds for missed flights. please point me to a route that will lower my cost to around $500. thanks

For Priceline bids, go to www.biddingfortravel.com
Also, try to use Kayak.com and see what the lowest price flights for lufthansa is and make note of the details such as flight numbers and stop overs. If you find anything sub 800 range, call lufthansa 2 for 1 and ask them to price the same flights with the deal.
I saved 400 bucks on our plane fare for late October going thru Heathrow instead of Chicago. on our return flight to LAX We prefer Heathrow anyway.

thanks arnold! wow it really made a difference when i used kayak.com the price came out to about $700 direct flight via lufthansa and will definitely use the 2 for 1 deal here which would make it 350 per person. i'll settle on this and will give them a call. i heard that they only reserve ur seats until i can produce the vin #, but can i lock in the price right now and pay for it before it changes?? thanks

I forget if it's suppose to be Q or V. Many times the lower fares that you see are the lowest fare classes and do not qualify for the 2 for 1.

No, you do not need a VIN# to reserve. You can give them a credit card # to protect against price changes. Once you get the VIN#, call them up and update your record locator.
