My car goes in on Monday for odds and ends and I am wondering if it's too premature to put on the summer tires considering I travel to ME, NH, VT.
Any thoughts? Thanks...

Snow is done in Indiana now except for maybe a few flurry days. Excepting a freak storm, you should be fine to take them off now. If its not an incovenience to bring it back, you could wait a couple more weeks.

It depends on how critical your driving to VT, NH, and Maine is. There is usually one more snow storm in April. I have skied in good powder in mid April. The good news is that the snow is only around for a day or two. If you have the flexibility of planning trips around the storms you should be fine. Also what are you putting on for summer tires? If they are all seasons they you will be fine, if they are performance tires and it snows, it will suck!
I usually wait until the third week in April and then it is pretty safe.

I live in Boston and I put my summer tires on the first or second week of May. I know that we almost never get snow in April but the roads are in such crappy condition after winter and by the first week of May most of the rim bending craters at least have been filled up. Plus I don't want to be studk in VT or ME with summer tires in one of those freak April snow storms.

Great input...thanks! I have the sport setup so if there is any snow, then it's a no go! I am in sales and have at least one more trip up to Vermont during the ski season so I think I'll be leaving them on until then.
Then again, I am excited to put on the 124's, and it is sooo convenient seeing that my car heads in to the dealer on Monday. We'll see...

You should be alright on summer tires now. I took them off on the X3 2 weeks ago. Of course as my luck would have it, it snowed that weekend, but it wasn't serious enough to confuse the M+S tires.
