Just thought I give some people the heads up on an awesome deal I got today via expedia!
I have been putting off Venice (bookings etc.) b/c I had done some quick research and it is f-ing expensive for an ok hotel. Thought about Mestre, but that is not Venice! So today while I was farting around killing some time, I decide to check out prices (I am going to be there in about 10 days) and get it out of the way. So I found lots of rooms for $200+ which I thought was pretty good, then stumbled on the San Clemente Palace http://www.thi.it/english/hotel/san_clemente/ on Expedia for $260 per night, 5 star hotel! Regular price is 585 euro, which is $710 per night! Needless to say I booked it! Not sure if anyone else is going to looking for accomadations in that price point/ locale, but it looks amazing and gets good reviews at tripadvisor.com I will be there from 8/30-9/1 2 nights! Have to go to Venice to surprise the girlfriend with a proposal she doesn't know about the trip or proposal.... aawwww how romantic lol good luck !
