Did you get a full 12 months of BMW Assist?
Today, I got a postcard from BMW Assist with my VIN on it, welcoming me to the first "free" year.
I called the 800 number and asked what the start date was. They started the clock on 7/27, the day after my car reached Harms in Munich. The car didn't arrive in NJ until this week (8/18) and, of course, I don't have it yet.
So, a couple of questions.
First, what happened to others with respect to the service start date? Second, is this worth extending to a full year? The postcard lead me to believe the E90 has the ability to be tracked by this service, so if it was stolen, they could locate it. Seems Lojack-like to me. Anyone know how this works?

It is pretty cool when you 1st register the car they tell you to push the SOS button and the built in car phone calls their operator to get all the info. to register the car. This phone only works for the BMW assist. I thought it was a cool gadget.
