 ED Nav tip

While doing ED I had problems 2x on finding hotels in both Zurich and Paris, and they were both Renaissance's by Marriott. It turns out the the hotels write their city as the major city (Zurich and Paris in my case), while the hotel is actually in another city. My nav took me to a street with the same name in Zurich and there was no hotel in site, and in Paris, the street did not exist in the Nav. Make sure to get the exact city name while making hotel reservations.

How was the Renaissance in Zurich? Good parking?

Parking was good - they have undergroud parking. It was 15 or 20 CHF per night.

Here is a pic of their parking lot:

The hotel is really away from the city and if I had a choice I would rather stay at the Marriott there (it is a category 6 hotel though). Staff was ok - but it was just an average place to stay.

You should just go to information on destination and then search hotels and find your hotel then directions to that

I agree with you highly on this issue. I am having the same issue here at home if you don't know the exact city name and you are doing a search or entering an address you may not find the Hotel. I also find many addresses that are not in the system.

Wow! Same exact thing happened to me with the same hotel - Renaissance "in" Zurich. Ended up on a narrow dead-end street looking for the hotel.

I agree the hotel was too far away from center of town - but I was using Marriott Rewards and choices were limited. The other choice was Category 6.

Thanks,
Razi
