Will latest E46 Nav systems take CD or DVD? Seems Europe discs are CD for specific countries or DVD for all Europe...?
Will either work? (Specifically in the M3)
Is the detail leves same for both?
Appreciate any info as don't have access to Nav manual before delivery...

The US model of E46 M3 (as well as the E65 7 series, X3) uses the BMW Navigation DVD-High system. This system is an upgrade from the previous CD version Nav system and is backward compatible. In short the E46 nav WILL accept both CD and DVD nav disk for the "High" system.
The newer system (DVD Professional) used on E60 5 series, E63 6 series as well as the new E90 3 series can ONLY use DVD Nav Professional disk. Does this help??

If you can, make a copy when you buy a disc. I just lost the original I have and will be using the backup.
