Hi all: placed a deposit Tuesday after agreeing on the specs with a local dealer. Spoke with the sales guy today and he said he needs to call to verify they have ED allocation to BMW office in New Jersey. He said he tried calling a few times today but couldnt get through and will try again Thursday (specifically he said they kept putting him on hold?).
The sales guy said he's done ED a few times and knows what he's doing. Should I just shut up and be patient as this is normal?

Tell him that beewang said to get his lazy a$$ up early in the morning and call!! Especially if he has done this a few times, he should know this. They run a (VERY) tight ship in the ED office and do not have enough staffs to babysit all the dealers who calls in.

I just got "Pre-Reservation Request" (Whatever that means) today - 2 weeks since I put the order in - BTW - my dealer didn't require a deposit -
Bee - remind me what the latest is I can change my colours etc?

It's very typical that the ED staff is swamped. The best way to contact them apparently is by e-mail. Tell your CA to e-mail instead.

My "pre-reservation" request is going in today, salesperson feels I should have an answer within a couple days. I'm requesting Oct 24 so over 2 months out....
