Time for pickup? (Fri, Sep. 16th)
Hi all...
I have a delivery date on Sept. 16th in Munich. I was wondering what time I should be there by? I'm booking my airfare now and theres a significant difference in price depending on when I arrive. If my plane lands at 10:35am on the day of pickup, does that give me enough time to get there and fill out all of the paper work? How about dropping the car off -- how much time should I allocate for that in my schedule?

They close the delivery center at 3:00 so as long as you get there before that time you should be O.K. it takes about an hour to get there.
I would recomend to come on a friday and have the dactory tour at 1:00 and arrive the evening before, that leaves you fresh after a good rest.
on the way back I had a 12:30 flight, and I made it easily, they open the HARMS office at 8:30 and I was on a cab at 9:00 got to the airport at 9:40 and spent a long time in the airport.

You could really get screwed if your plane is delayed and you have plans contigent on getting in your new 7'er and hitting the autobahn the very day you get in.
Drop off is very easy, but you have to communicate with Herr Behrends exactly your intent before that day arrives. It can be very quick to fill out the drop off paperwork if they can prepare the boilerplate stuff in advance. The drop off center is only 15mins from the airport.

What I am saying is get there the evening before. That is what I did, and I was able to drive the whole day to Switzerland after the factory tour which ended at 4:30, I was at San Moritz by 9:00 P.M and in may I had light until almost 9 P.M In October it will get darker ,much earlier.
