Hi
I'm going to Munich in October and will be travelling to Salzburg, Prague, Vienna, and back to Munich. I can't wait. But I have a question regarding the included insurance. If the car gets a door ding while in Europe, is that covered? It's just that driving in Europe seems quite scary.
Thanks.

Thanks. | A lot is covered. Do a search for insurance in this forum and it will give you insights on what's been covered.

100% coverage with no deductible except for theft of car. In case of car theft there is a 10% deductible if and only if your are able to produce all the car keys and the registration papers. It extremely important that you keep them with you at all times. The 10% deductible may be waived if you reorder an identical car.

It is implied that they would look at your claim as being "suspicious" and because you did not meet the requirements of insurability it is not clear to what extent they would deny the claim. I would hate to be the one that tests that clause.

Unless you know how to argue with a German insurance company, I would simply keep all the keys and the paperwork with you at all times. It was easy for me: I put the keys (including the spare and the "blank" remote) and the white folder you get on delivery in Munich in my backpack, along with my passport and tickets. Most hotels have a room safe; those that don't can lock your keys/papers up in the front desk safe.
