Curb rash at EH Harms; how do I proceed?

I did ED and returned my car in Munich on July 1. As I was parking the car, I hate to admit it, but I hit the curb. The underside of the front of the car is scratched. You can't even see it unless you pass your hand or bend underneath it, but I am afraid the rest of the paint may continue to peel off or something. Does anyone know if this is something that the ED insurance would cover? I think it probably will be just a few hundred dollars. How do I proceed? I call my dealer and he had no idea and told me to call the ED dept., who told me to call the dealer, who had no idea, so the ED dept gave me the headquarters numbers, but I have not called yet. Since in here there are people more knowleageable than in the BMW company, I ask this question in here. Thanks for any information.

You should've reported it to Gerling Insurance if you wanted to get it fixed. Probably better late than never.

Won't they find the curb rash at the VPC? I'd ask my dealer to call the VPC and make sure it's fixed before they ship the car to the dealer. The VPC is supposed to inspect the car and make it "perfect".....if you still see the curb rash when the car gets redelivered to you make a note to the dealer before you drive it home. You are covered for this kind of thing.

I'm not sure that's true. Normal wear and tear they may not cover, and curb rash for the most part falls under that. I got a small rash at Heathrow on my first ED, and that was not fixed. I ended up swapping that one with the spare. (In the Old days '97, when these cars came with a spare)

Had a similar experience myself, you can read about it here:

I don't know if it qualifies as curb rash, but I hit the curb and scratched lower part of my bumper. They fixed it for me. But then, mine was going into the shop anyway to repair the hailstorm damage.
