Credit Card Use for Purchase of ED

Hello All,
First time poster here just checked out this website yesterday and it is AMAZING the different things that I am learning. I am looking to to ED for possibly a 530 or a 550 in late November or early December. I am not sure if this is a good idea as I can imagine it is quite cold during that time anyone tried that? But also I have another question, I did try and do some research on this question and couldn't find any answer on the search thread (this is similiar to flyertalk) and that is if any of the dealers would accept and AMEX credit card or even a Mastercard/VISA/ DC or DIscover card? It would be somehere between 50-60k on the card. Any one have any experience with that? I know the dealers always tell me that they are charged a percentage fee, etc. but I have also heard that they are charged flat fees for these type of purchases? Also, when I brought my current car, 2000 Nissan Maxima I did put 10k on the credit card no problem. This would be my first BMW ever and as I am a young guy (26) I'm quite excited at the possibility of doing this. I am also inviting 2 other friends of mine and planning to go around Europe, particularly Austria, Switzerland and Italy but more interestingly I am thinking Croatia and then into Greece. Can this be done? Also wanted to take the ferry and maybe take the car into Mykonos or perhaps even Greece? Any one know about this possibility? Also would driving into Eastern Europe, particularly Bulgaria and Romania not be recommended? WHat about Sardinia or Corsica? SO sorry so many questions. Thanks.

Let me know if you managed to put your car on your Amex. I want to do the same on my E90.. Done that on my wife's car deposit before, but it was not as much.

How long is your trip? Also, the first thing to think about is that: is there a drop off point at your final destination. The drop off points are all listed in teh ED site on BMWUSA.

Credit card: I would say only your dealer can answer this. Each dealership probably has it's own policy about limits that can be charged and/or fees for using credit cards.

Your destinations: I would urge you to contact BMW's ED Dept at bmweuropeandelivery@bmwna.com They can provide an up to date list of countries that are included in your insurance coverage (and whether you are covered on ferry boats, etc) You really need to find out from BMW directly about this as the insurance policies are subject to change.

It sounds like a great and ambitious ED you've got planned. The common wisdom on this board will probably discourage you from venturing too far into Eastern Europe. Again, if you're covered by the insurance you're OK but I sure as heck wouldn't take my new 550 into some of the places you've mentioned.

Are you joking? a 26 year old buying a 550 and wanting to put it on a credit card that has a limit of $60,000 something does not add up here, then you want to do island hopping with a car? E.D only covers your insurance for 2 weeks you have presented a 30-45 day trip here... also I am not sure if the insurancecovers Croacia.
Then on top of that you want to go to summer resorts in the winter ?

Don't waste our time kiddo, keep looking at your BMW screen saver, that is as close as you will get to a 550

My dealer,JMK,would only let me put down $3,000 and another $3,000 on the blance before ED pick up on my M/C.

Hey, we're not here to judge his ability to pay for his car, about which we have no idea, we're here to provide help and guidance with European Delivery.

I would contact BMW and find out all the countries that the insurance is good for. Plus, you can buy additional insurance I believe up to 6 months, but it isn't that cheap.
