 Munich to Frankfurt

Has anyone went from Munich to Frankfurt? If so is most of the speed on the A9 and A3 unrestricted?

Forgive my ignorance, but I can't figure out what these autobahn charts mean. They look cool and useful but they're not self-explanatory. I did a thread search and I can't find instructions to decipher.

What do the two rows of numbers like 80, 100, and 120 running vertically side by side mean? Are those kph between those cities on the autobahn? Why two rows? What do the colors mean? What do the dashes and x's mean (no speed limit?) It would be a great if someone who understands these would explain how to interpret them.

Nice website !

The numbers are the speed limit in km/h, the "-" mean no speed limit.

The detailed key is here

Plug the link in babelfish.altavista.com for a crude translation.

In the A9 example, there is a 100 km/h speed limit from Dreieck Potsdam to Beelitz-Heilstaetten, then there's no speed limit until Niemegk. 120 km/h until Klein Marzehns etc.

The pink color means it's 6 lanes (3 in each direction I suppose).
P* means rest stop with restrooms
TR means rest stop with gas station.
