 november 7 2005 ed

Just got a call from my ca today and he said week of october 3rd no can do. He got the info from bmw na ed department and they couldn't confirm that date. He'll resubmit it for november 7th online. It's funny my ca told me there's only 3 people who work in the ed department booking these ed entries for all cars sold in germany and 1 is currently out on medical leave. He had a tough time getting through to them via emails, phone calls and fax. They told my ca they are no longer accepting october dates, only for november and beyond. I hope all things goes well and they can confirm my nov. 7th date. Do I get to fill out the survey when I do ed on my satisfaction with ca service??? thanks

Actually my CA had a tough time getting through too. E-mail seems to work the best.

Sorry...the customer satisfaction (CSI) survey does not apply to ED purchases.

Last year, I placed a couple of calls to the BMWNA ED dept, and recall being on hold for a long time (20+ min).

I've heard that long waits on hold are the norm. I think my dealer communicated to them through the Fax machine.

The ED dept runs a tight ship, they are very good at what they do and do not have time to chatter and babysit custumers. I know this sounds harsh, but there is no other wayto sugar coat it. They DO their best to accomadate everyone, I for one can attest for that.

A lil' search and you will know (that I have said this time and time again). SOP on a regular MY usually start on first week of Sept (+-1 week). Keep in mind that at the begining of SOP, BMWAG is cranking out cars for worldwide sales/distribution. This typically goes on for few weeks depending on orders sold as well as demand for the new vehicle. With luck, any excess capacity they will start the production for ED orders. Translation, ED car orders are typically build towards the end of September, which means a few lucky individuals will have an end of Oktober ED pick-up. These individual are likely the ones who placed their order in 6 mos. In advance asking for the soonest delivery date. This is VERY important and the same reason that most EDer’s don’t get to goto Oktoberfest (which really is in 2nd half of September and ends in forst week of Oktober).

Getting a November pick-up date is not unusual, imagine if you waited another week and you will most likely looking at late November pick-up.

I must have got mine in just in time. I was able to get a Sept 30 pickup date for a car with Comfort Access (Sept production feature.) My only need was either to schedule for Sept 30th or to wait until late Oct. The dealer called me back within a few days with a Sept 30 confirmation. This was several weeks ago now.

I wonder if ED sales have picked up recently as it 'seems' several recent ones are getting Nov pickup now (???)

Just out of curiosity, how many ED's have you done Beewang? And thanks for all your great posts! I've read quite a few of them and among a few other regular posters, have provided great information that will no doubt help make my trip much more enjoyable! Hey, maybe you should offer a 'guided ED tour service'
