 Hotel in Madrid

Greetings,

I must drop-off my car in Madrid on Sep 6th, which is a day prior to my return to the US
(miscalculated 14 day insurance expiration date). Does anyone know of a nice hotel that would be fairly central relative to city and yet accessible to the drop-off center/airport?
Basically I'm looking for a hotel that would not be a nightmare to get back to (from drop-off) on a Tuesday afternoon via public transportation and ditto to get to the airport the following morning. Thanks!

Why not stay at an airport hotel instead, such as the Aeropuerto? You could drop off luggage at hotel, drop off car, enjoy rest of day, go to hotel at night. (Hotel has free shuttle to terminals).

There are several nice onces on Gran Via like "The Emperador", "Crown Plaza" which is located on Plaza de Espaņa which is on Gran Via also. These two are 4stars and should run in the low $100's. Just beware that the parking is expensive and the free street parking is hard to find and very tight. People in general don't take much care of there cars there. Let me know if you need further assistance. I travel to Spain very often.

The Villa Real is a good hotel, its right in the centre of the city near the Plaza de Canovas (a few blocks)

Another good one is Hotel Urban which is around the block from the Villa Real, both in great locations.

Hotel Occidental is not bad, next to a subway station, very convenient..near major areas.
