 Dingolfing Tour without a car?

Here is my dilemma. The only day that I will be able to do the Dingolfing factory tour is on the Friday I turn my car over to Harms. Tours start at 2:00 and I would not be able to get the car back to Harms on time. There seem to be two options on this. If there are others let me know.

1) Take a set of keys to Harms on Friday and return the car to them after they close on Friday night.
Question: Will it be hard to grab a taxi to get to a bus stop or train station? (We are staying at Hotel Uhland down town.)

2) Drop the car off Friday morning and find transportation to Dingolfing.
Question: What kind of transportation could I find? (Train, bus, etc.) I know I could not afford a taxi.

Does anyone have any ideas, insight or suggestions? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

wow, and I thought I was a miser. Buy a $40k car and say 'can't afford to pay $50/100 for a taxi'!!

Trains run about every hour to Dingolfing from Munich, 15.30 Euros each way, trip is 1 hour 8 minutes.

Set up your drop with Harms ahead of time (like the day you arrrive if possible) and while you are there, ask them to arrange a taxi to take you to the airport after you drop your car off...whatever the hour.

I should add:

Me and a friend did this in order to leave our cars with Harms on Easter Sunday. Sure enough, the taxi showed up on time and whisked us away to the airport no muss, no fuss.

I'm thinking of a combination of the two above ideas.

1) Use the car to go to Dingolfing and return it to Harms Friday night (We fly out early Saturday morning)
2) Then take a cab to the train station and take it and bus to Hotel (I think cab fare is E75 to E100). If I'm wrong about the fare, I would consider taking the cab back to the Hotel.

Question: Not knowing what time I would be getting back to Harms, how hard will it be to flag down a cab? I don't know yet if I will have a cell phone.
Also, what is the area like around the Harms drop off point late at night?

Again, any help is appreciated.

The folks at Harms will call a cab for you. Take it to the U6 station (maybe 2 miles from Harms) which goes right downtown....no need for a cab.

You're smart to drive to the factory in Dingolfing....it will probably save you time which you don't have much of. THe factory tour is amazing....you're smart to do it.
