Check out Mercedes ED program to compare, what do you think?

Basically the same 7% off msrp with a couple exceptions:
Good:
1. Includes 4 nights accomadations for 2 at some pretty good hotels
2. Breakfast OR Lunch for 2 at each of the hotels
3. Taxi voucher from airport to hotel upon arrival

Bad:
1. no lufthansa 2 for 1 offer on airfare
2. If you want to travel elsewhere outside of Germany you will have to either just forgo the free hotels(which who would right?) or extend your trip to do so.

What else do you guys know about the differences? The hotel stays built in keeps you in Germany or at least would keep my cheap ass there!

Also I'm not sure if MB gives the same ED invoice + whatever deals as is so prevalent with our site members.

Assuming you could have either program to pick up a new BMW I would have to go with using frequent flier miles, and pick the MB ED package. (not the car people relax, the ED package!)

Actually, the MB program includes only one night in a hotel. They have an optional package that includes four additional nights for a cost of $1,300.

I also looked at MB ED, however none of the dealer I talked to will do anything more than 7% MSRP discount

So that was your deciding factor.

The Mercedes S-class was one of the final 4 vehicles that made my shopping list (S430, XJ8L, A8L, 745Li). It looked good on paper but I was not impressed with the test drive. Not only was the performance/ride not as good as the 7-series but the cockpit felt more restrictive than the cavernous 7. Overall, I thought the 7 was nicer than the S500 but cheaper than the S430.

If you're more interested in ED for the cost savings consider the "friends and family" discount. If you know anyone that works for DCX I believe the savings is 8% and you don't have to fly to Germany. Or you could wait a few weeks and see if they follow GM and give everyone the employee discount.

Of course, then you'd be driving a Mercedes and not a Bimmer. Sure, Merc builds good cars too but I know plenty of Mercedes owners and none of then rave about their cars as much as myself and the other BMW owners I know.

Good luck and happy shopping!
