Since these forums are sometimes filled with various complaints about dealers and BMWNA, I thought I'd put in a nice word for them. I do not want to get into the details of my case, but following is, in general terms, what happened:
I did an ED for a 545 in early May. After I dropped the car off, it was damaged. Obviously I was upset when I found out about the damage. I did not know the extent of the damage, which turned out to be serious, until the car arrived at Port Hueneme.
I started dealing directly with someone in the ED department when I was intitially notified of the damage, and she was fantastic. She took a personal interest in my case, and did everything she could to help me. After the car came in, Customer Relations became involved in the case. Over the period of a couple of weeks, there were negotiations, and there were various options discussed. We reached an equitable settlement in a relatively short amount of time.
BMWNA could not have handled this situation any better. They accepted responsibility for the actions of their agents that caused the damage, and they fixed the situation accordingly. They did everything they could to satisfy me, and to keep me as a happy BMW customer. They stood by their product and took seriously the concept of keeping the customer satisfied.
Thank you to the European Delivery department and thank you to BMWNA for resolving this situation quickly and fairly.

Hi, I agree that BMW NA is to be commended for their dedication to their customers. I was sorry to hear you had damage to your car, but I am glad to hear they rectified the situation for you. I did ED in May and dropped my car at E.H. Harms in Frankfurt. When the car reached New Jersey, I was notified that someone had stolen the wheels and tires off of my 330Ci and had put some strange looking wheels with snow tires on it instead. All they requested were pictures of the car when I picked it up in Munich and when I dropped it off in Frankfurt showing the correct M double spoke 17" wheels and Michelin Pilot tires. They don't know where the theft occurred, but when my car came into the dealer here in Fort Lauderdale a couple of weeks later, the correct wheels and tires were on the car. It was perfect. Thank you BMW NA for keeping a good customer happy.
