Just got back from a 3 week trip - the first 11 days were the ED portion in Europe. Put on 1,000 miles. Excellent trip - my wife is already talking about the next one.

Picked up a 530i on July 5th. Started raining the night and with three kids was very worried about the car - so went out and bought a few towels to help safeguard the interior - and that worked!

We headed down to Innsbruck for a night and then over to Venice. After two nights in Venice, headed north up through Bellagio (Lake Cumo) for a night and then over to Lucerne (1 night) and Zurich (2 nights). The weather was rainy north of the Alps for the entire trip (until Brenner Pass on the way down and north of Swiss-Italian border on the way back).

The best part of the trip was Bellagio. The roads leading up to Bellagio are very narrow - suggested only for the brave, but the place is beautiful. Suggest staying two to three nights in Bellagio if possible.

The Nav DVD was invaluable. Would recommend not doing a trip without a Nav system.
