Flying out in 45 minutes!!!
Well, we are at the Boise Airport waiting to fly out. Should be picking up the car straight from the Munich Airport in about 18 hours. We're getting 325 with Prem, Logic 7, Cold Weather, and we're going to Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg in addition to Munich. Here we go.....  | | Reply » Flying out in 45 minutes!!! |

Got back last night. I'll post pix soon.
The car is wonderful. One of the most surprisingly good features is the cruise control (not active). The stalk operation, the digital display of any change, and the outside-the-spedometer-cruise-needle added together to make it very useful on the Abahn.
My main advice to EDers:
1) If you want to see a city, Vienna for example, stay more than one night. You will use up more daylight driving than you expect. If you don't care to see much and just want to drive, go for it, but we would have liked 2 or more nights in Vienna and Salzburg instead of one.
2) Hotels: We stayed centrally in order to park the car and walk. The problem is that in old European cities, central hotels are VERY HARD TO DRIVE TO! If you try this, have EXCELLENT city street maps before you get there. We spent 1:30 driving around downtown Munich looking for our hotel near the train station. In the future, we would probably stay a bit further out, and just get something right by the metro.
