Just wanted to say thanks for the info I was able to gather here prior to my trip.

Picked up my 530i last Monday. No problems. Shouldn't asked for Bernard, the lady reviewing my delivery wasn't very knowledgeable. But, all was well with the car and we were off the Rothenburg ODT. Very nice historical town.

Salzburg the next day and then off the Vienna the following two days.

We took a little side trip to Linz (per trip #25 in the BMW road book) on the way to Vienna. Do not recommend it. Time would be better spent in Vienna or Salzburg. However, we only spent a couple of hours there.

Alot of roadwork going on with the autobahn from Salzburg to Vienna. Probably extended the trip by about 1 1/2 hours (dead stop and go for 1 hour straight). That really cost us because we planned to go straight and drop off the car in Vienna. Well, we didn't arrive in Vienna until just after 4pm, drop off center closed at 4pm! We had to pay 26 euro for the garage that night plus waste a couple of hours to drop off the car the next morning.

Alot to see in Vienna, wish we had more time.

Navigation was a must for us. I really couldn't see how we'd get around without it. My wife would've had to read the maps, and that would be VERY bad! We relied 100% on "her" (the nav voice lady) and she never let us down. Actually, at first a few times I tried what I thought would be a faster route, different than what she recommended, and every time I was wrong.

The car was filthy dirty when we dropped it off. (rain and bugs!). My next step in researching now is to purchase Zaino and all the accesories for cleaning, thanks for all the cleaning info as well.
