I've noticed a lot of our ED cars with similar plates. One pic I saw was a car that looked like a pic of my car, and the license plate was only 1 character off. I was wondering what numbers we are getting. I'll start:
M 4402Z

Quote: Most of them, including mine, start with an M There is already a thread on this topic...somewhere | Thanks for the heads up, Doc, but all of them start with an M. It stands for Munich. I searched before I posted, there are no such threads that I could see. No thread in the ED forum that contains "license plate" asks for a rollcall of our temp plate numbers.
So... going to contribute..
Again, mine was:
M 4402Z

In fact, I will venture to say that all US ED BMW cars are starting w/ the letter "M" as in "Muchen" or Munich.
The letters idetifies the city of the car's registration. The larger cities gets 1 letter (i.e. M= Munchen, F= Frankfurt, B= Berlin, S= Stuttgart) and the smaller the city the more Letters (i.e DGF= Dingolfing)
Hope this helps,

My dealer left the rear Munich plate on the car While this looks cool today, when I get my US plate I have no holes to attach it. A mistake? Will a local dealer fix the plate for me??

Take a look at your trunk or somewhere in your car. You should have a plastic bracket somewhere. There should be a pack of screws as well.
