Lufthansa 2-for-1 no longer on the BMW website, does anyone know if it is over? I finally got my production number today and was getting ready to call and see if I could book a flight yet....and POW no more 2-for-1 link on the site. I hope that this is just a error in the site redesign, because I am planning on taking delievery 8/29 and the prices last week were about $1300 each, so this would blow essentially all the money I haggled for If anyone has any ideas, or ways to find cheaper airfare please feel free to share! Thanks everyone for all the help. -Mike |

We just inquired about the deal with Lufthansa, who has a dedicated program for the offer. The pricing for their "price class" (per flight) under this promotion is considerably higher than identical Economy seats offered over the website (same flight and all).
When factoring in total costs, you only come out about $100 ahead using the promotion:
BMW Promo (economy class): 1X Ticket + Taxes = $1050 + $100 1X Free Ticket + Taxes = $100 Total = $1300+
Standard airfare (identical seats through Lufthansa) 1X Ticket + Taxes = $600 + $100 1X Ticket + Taxes = $600 + $100 Total = $1400
A no go for us as it would've cost more to cancel our existing reservations to take advantage.

I totally agree that the 2 for one deal is a scam. When I approached ED they agreed with me that this is not such a hot deal and that they would inquire why it is called as deal (false advertising). I got a better price going through the internet when I flew 5/18/05.

Where you are flying from and when you are flying is important. When I priced August or September 2005 travel earlier this month the Lufthansa 2-for-1 was sizeable savings. Individual tickets from Colorado Springs were going for about $1000 (expedia) and the Lufthansa 2-for-1 ticket was $1300 (not including taxes). It's an option that is there on the table for us to take or leave Greg
