romantic road or good driving roads near munich

anyone know where this drive is? My wife and I are going to be in munich for 3 days and I want to find some good day drives other than salzburg, austria. We then head to Neuchwastein castle and Innsbruck, Austria on the 4th day and so on, but thought I would look for some good driving roads for those first couple days to get used to the car and driving in europe. Any suggestions?

If you are starting from the southern end from Fussen you should be able to follow the sign. When you are on it, you will see this sign:

To indicate that you are indeed on the Romantic Road

When I did the drive w/ the wife, I went from Munich delivery center straigh towards Ausburg direction and hopped onto the Road.

These 2 pictures taken Last Oktober at Rothenburh o.d.T
Just remeber, lots of countryside and (when in a town) cobble stone and tight road. It was alot of fun for a day cruise to end at Wurzburg

I'm with Bewang in regards to seeing some older towns, like Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is very scenic. I went to Dinkelsbuhl this past month. It was gorgeous, original, looks exactly like Bee's pics, and doesn't have as much tourism (busses of folks). It's a complete walled original city, and is close to Rothenburg. Plus, there are a bunch of real nice restaurants there.

Here's a couple of similar pics:

STOP!!! You guys are killing me with those pics! One more of those and I'll have to drive straight to the airport and get on the first flight to Munich! I can practically taste the dunkel hefe weizen... soooo tantalizing... aaahhhhhhh

Seriously, these pictures make me miss Germany so much, I want to live there... will work for
