I called today the ED department to confirm my pickup date of Aug 12. My car went status 150 late last week. The lady mentioned that in order to confirm the pickup date they need a PO asap.
My dealer is getting the info and they should have it by Thursday. Do you think I am ok in getting the Aug 12 delivery date? or should I go ahead and light a small fire with my dealer and get the PO to ED by Tuesday.
Thanks, .Trex

Thanks, .Trex | You should be fine, but call your dealer to get things moving.

I've done two EDs and have never had to call the ED department.
BMW has a time-line when the PO needs to be sent in, when the car needs to be paid for, etc... your dealer should tell you when those milestones are. My dealer did, and never called me again, I just went in and did it when it was time.

At the same time I never thought that only with a PO in hand will the ED dept confirm the pickup date.
I called the ED dept just to confirm the pickup date so I can sleep better and was shocked to hear that it's not confirmed. Especially given that I started the process 6 weeks ago.

I suppose they make a distinction between reservation and confirmation. Your date is reserved but it will not be confirmed until the PO is in. I wouldn't worry too much about it or call the ED dept again. Your dealer should know everything you need, and you don't need to contact BMWNA.

Joern from Passport BMW is handling my transaction, so I'll leave the details to him. But what is status 150? I've not heard of this. I do have a production number, that's all I've been given so far.
