| | Reply » Seijin | Thanks for the update on the Seijin. My car is on that ship and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival and redelivery. I dropped the car off on May 27 in Munich. It is actually making good time. If the ship arrives on 7/1 as scheduled, I assume they will promptly unload. However, will processing have to wait until the following week since it is a holiday weekend? Or do they work around the clock?

I think it is safe to say that they will promptly unload. According to the boat notification letter, Customs and Agriculture inspections are slowing things significantly or it could simply be that ED cars are not as high priority as we would like, either in processing at VDC or trucking.
My (lightly supported) belief is that they work only one shift per day and that they only work Saturdays only when priority one (pre-sold) vehicles are stacking up. My guess is that if all goes very well for you, you would be unloaded 7/1, but not clear Customs and Ag until 7/5 at the earliest.
In three recent data samples that I have, all for SoCal dealerships, the times from docking to dealer were: 1 week, 2 weeks and 2 weeks, for an average of just under 12 days. Because of your distance from Oxnard and because of the intervening holiday weekend, my best guess is that your dealer should get your car on about July 18, with perhaps an 80% chance that it will arrive between the 12th and the 23rd, assuming no damage.
Here's hoping that they set a record for shortest time from ship dropoff to delivery to your dealer. Please let us know anything when you do. Thanks.

Here's hoping that you can come close to the record for shortest time from ship dropoff to delivery to your dealer. (I am hoping to tie E36M3r's one week record, but don't worry, I am not holding my breath.) Please let us know anything when you do. Thanks.
