Congratulations on getting a European Delivery. It is a wonderful experience. Yes, when the car arrives at the dealer, they check out everything and it is cleaned and in perfect condition when you pick it up from them. I just got my car back last week, and it looked beautiful. The DVD for the US was even in the Navigation System with the correct time on the monitor. The tires had Armorall on them and it had all the brochures, window sticker (loose, not on the window), full tank of gas (I left it in Germany with only a little gas), etc. Enjoy.

Just want to point out that what you experinced is NOT standadized practice from dealer to dealer. Unlike any US delivery purchase, the ED car's US re-delivery does not get reimbursed by BMWNA.

My car was detailed beautifully at re-delivery, even waxed (Baron BMW-KC) We left it a mess in Paris as they did not ask us wash it. No full tank of gas though...that's the dealers option.

When I went to pick up the car on Wednesday, it was not detailed and there was a large swirl mark each on the hood and rear fender. They were not there on drop off, and I guess that the VPC may have tried to buff out a scratch. I asked the dealer to polish the car with a glaze and then wax, and they did so without any hesitation. I guess techinically they are not obligated to do so, but I have a great relationship with them, so they took care of it. It came out wonderful...just like new.
