What happens Euro NAV DVD in USA?

I was wondering what happens if you put a Euro NAV disc in the car while your in the USA? Will it load anything or show you on a map of the world or just show you without any detail somewhere in the US?

The car position will be a blank screen, but you can enter a Euro destination, and then use the option to go to the 'input destination map' and see where you would be navigating too... and see the Euro maps. I had some waypoints in my nav when my car was re-delivered, and I looked them up, etc...

yea, I have some previous destinations still in my NAV from Europe....I'm afraid to click on them now for fear it will forever lock up the nav in confusion. Although it would be cool to see it plan a route....hahhaa

I tried it with some Europe DVDs I, umm, "tested" for another 'fester while the car was in my garage. After telling it I wanted to go to Bern, Switzerland the NAV chugged for a bit and came up with "--:--" for the arrival time and ">9999" for the distance.

The "--:--" is what it displays before it computes the actual route - if you plot a long trip in the US, the mileage will first display "as the crow flies" with the --:-- time. Once it figures out a workable route, the mileage will change to the (longer) distance of the actual route and the arrival time will be calculated.

I assume you'd see the same sort of behavior if you tried to route to Hawaii from the mainland US.

My car acted funny when I inserted the Euro DVD. First, it told me the Disk version had change and to shut everything down and come back in 5 minutes! Huh?? Otherwise, the NAV refused to work. Tried a few things, even waited, nothing.

Well, I left it in the car (was checking during lunch at work), and went back to work. I came back to go home (6ish) and it was working...I guess. However, I couldn't get any map either in US or Europe to work at all. It just kept coming back that the desitination couldn't be found. I dunno....
