i just picked up my ed in houston...i ordered via Joern at Passport (in MD)....when i picked up my car, the dealer in houston said that i had a big disadvantage since i purchased from a dealer in another state...he said that i will not be able to get a loaner car if i bring in the BMW for service..... is this true?  |

| I think giving loaners is purely at the descretion of a particular dealership. Some don't have them at all, some give you a rental car and some just give you a shuttle ride to a public transportation (a ferry in my case.) .

I think it's just spite, because once you have the car, they shold want you to be happy.

It's weird they would tell you something like that and turn you off, unless that's the only dealership in the area. That changes things a little bit.

I think it's fair actually. It's reward and incentive for you to purchase your car there. It IS a courtesy afterall. That they choose to do so for future sales is admirable also and future thinking. But I kind of like having it an exclusive option for loyalty.

They may give them only to 760s buyers if they so please. It's just that they should probably make it a positive rather than negative selection. It may turn off some buyers who otherwise would have taken their cars in for service there. That's all.
