We are in peak summer traveling season, the LF 2 for 1 deal is still the best and price is certainly up compare to off season.

I am in Interlaken right now having paid $1300 for the NY to Washington to Munich ticket with my wife's free.

It's the best deal out there. Take it and say thank you to BMW. I am going to Europe in August (not for ED though) and both availability and pricing is simply terrible.

I had thought I could probably do better than the 2 for 1 deal, but I was wrong. Even using 9,000 AMEX points for $149 companion ticket on Air France, Lufthansa was a few dollars cheaper. For an Open-Jaw routing from Washington- Munich and Rome-Washington in early October it worked out to under $600 per person.
The best I could find on the internet for a similar routing was closer to $700.

I am not going till October. Do I need ED proof when making reservations ? I will not have my production number for at least 6 weeks or so. How does one initiate the 2 for 1 deal? Is there a specific web site ?
