We are getting closer to our epic journey to pick up our 330 ci ZDF. I noticed some of you picking up additional parts at a nearby dealer, though this was for a 5 series. Are there any goodies we should consider purchasing either because they are not available here or significantly more?
Thank

Perhaps the warning triangle? I picked one up for the E38 plus a couple spares for some friends when we were in Germany for the E39 European Delivery.
If you have BMW friends back home, they may be interested in one.

The warning triangle (Code 428) was included as a $0 cost option on my order sheet.

Oh, sorry... wasn't clear in my message. I meant picking up some extras for BMW friends back home.

Quote: Oh, sorry... wasn't clear in my message. I meant picking up some extras for BMW friends back home. | I've travelled extensively internationally for business and pleasure for the past 25 years. A rule of thumb I have learned is that if the same product can be purchsed in the U.S., it is usually cheaper in the U.S. than in it's home country. For example, that BMW key chain that cost €10 in Munich might cost $10 in the dealer's shop in the US (don't flame me if I got the actual prices wrong, please - just an example). I've seen this to be true with many goods from many different countries. Of course, there are exceptions, but ferreting them out is usually too much of a pain. And why haul something halfway around the world when it can be had for the same or less money just down the street. Having said that, my recommendation is - look for BMW do-dads at the shop in Munich that you don't see at the US dealer - there are bound to be some...but there may not be or the ones that are different may be inappropriate, too expensive, etc. Or try something completely different - bring them souvenirs of Munich or Bavaria or Germany. You can find something in every price range - from "Freistaat Bayern" stickers to key chains to bottle openers to beer mugs (a few Euros to 100's) to Bavarian hats (with or without Gamsbart) to Nymphenburg porcelain to a new BMW!...you get the idea Greg

I would pick up a Safety Vest from the dealership, because it is not included in the emergency kit (if you are going to the dealership anyway) Especially if you are planning to travel to countries like Austria and the like, althought I hope you don't need it. It was about 8 Euros and I couldn't resist to have it autographed by BMW. The ones sold at gas stations are about the same price but of worst quality.
