 drop off fuel level

hello,

i read the whole ED session, but i couldnt find anything about fuel level that suppose to be at drop off.

i remember my friend mentioned when he droped off his car to baltimore port, they told him fuel level in the tank has to be 1/4 or below, so this poor guy endup driving on I95 for a good hour or 2 to kill half tank of gas, so it can be within the requirement.

i wonder if this ever came up to your attention.

i get come back home to work, so it wont be a mini vacation for me, so the max drive for me to enjoy my car would be 20 mins avg, then i will drop it off right away, then fly back, hopeful the same day.

thanks

They didn't specify at delivery how much to leave, but I left the minimum(<1/4 tank) and hoped my dealer would top it off which he did. Gas in Europe was about $6/gal so I only filled it up once and put enough to finish the trip. I would think they want the least amount of fuel in case the ship catches on fire and also the wght of the car is less. Not sure but that is what I am thinking the reason is.

I left less than 1/4 tank, for fear that they would charge me a fee to drain gas. I thought I read somewhere (a long time ago) that somebody was charged. I never saw anybody during my ED who said anything of the sort, nor did I see it in any docs.

I planned really badly, and had well over 1/2 tank (maybe 3/4). No one said anything, and my dealer topped off my really expsensive gas with cheap american gas.

try to time it such (if possible) that you leave the least amount of gas. It just comes down to money - gas is much more expensive there. I probably had ~30 miles left.
