What a great trip it was! Germany and Austria were HOT and MUGGY but nothing a few dozen bottles of mineral water per day couldn't handle.
FIRST OFF: I couldn't have done this trip so quickly without the expert assistance of my salesperson at Harloff BMW in Enicnitas CA: Marc Datnow. He did the impossible by getting my car built in 2.5 weeks from my first call to him on May 12th. Way to go Marc!
I flew in and out of Stuttgart as a good (American) friend of mine took a job transfer there for 3 years with his company. With luggage in tow we took the Bahn from Stuttgart to Munich (2 hrs 20min) and hopped on the U6 to Freimann.
Bernhard was his normal happy and helpful self. I brought him a baseball shirt from the San Diego Padres and he was thrilled. I picked up around 2:45pm Thurs and I was the only delivery left for that day. Some of you might know that I sold a silver E60 last month and I thought it was evil of Bernhard to have only one other car parked in the delivery area (yup, a silver E60...to haunt me I guess).
We went upstairs for some sandwiches and cool drinks (it was pretty warm up there too)
and waited about 30 minutes. Bernhard went over all the papers and then took us in to see the car. It was stunning of course....as all black cars are before they are taken out into the real world!
Bernhard drove it outside and off we went to the Marriott.
