Only 24 hours until we are sitting in Busines class on on LH direct from LAX to MUC drinking champagne, off to a fantastic adventure. We will arrive in Munich on Saturday and spend the weekend doing tourist stuff. My wife has never been in Munich before. Monday we pick up her new X3 and will spend 18 glorious days driving through Switzerland, Italy and France. Two quick qestions
I will be dropping of the car in Munich at Harms, do I need a reservation?
I will be driving in Switzerland and I know I need to purcahse a vignette, where do I buy it and how much does it cost?

Have a good trip.  No, you do not need a reservation, there are no reservations to be had. Some who have drop off conflicts with flights, weekends, etc.... go in early (like before you leave Munich) and fill in the paperwork. But the whole process takes about 15 minutes so its not necessary or preferred and simply creates slightly more work for everybody. I wouldn't bother and worry about it.

Thanks for an help | I know some drop off locations do require a reservation, I needed one in Nice. You can get the vignette at any gas station and it costs 8euros (I think). Thanks for rubbing in the bussiness class part, I had to sit with other sardines in the back(that is funny). Enjoy your trip, it will be a memorable experience.

Thanks for the quick response. We have an extra day in Munich at the end, so since I do not need a reservation at Harms it gives me flexibility to stay in France a day longer if I feel like it. Had to throw in the business class part since it was free this time, but cost me a bunch of trips in back last year.
