ED Packet
My ED is 7/22. I have not received my packet yet. Should I be concerned? If not, then when should I go into panic mode? | | Reply » ED Packet | Quote: My ED is 7/22. When things have fallen apart in the past, BMWNA steps up and overnights the packet.

Enjoy your trip.

If not, then when should I go into panic mode? | My packet arrived yesterday (6/25) for a 7/20 delivery. In talking with the ED department, I was told that they simultaneously email the dealer and drop the packet in the mail when it's really, REALLY done. That includes getting confirmation from the department in Germany that must register the car with the German government, making sure that the ED people in the US have all the documentation necessary for US Customs (I guess I am importing the car, not BMW NA), and most importantly, none of this can start until the dealer sends BMW NA the ED PO.
So, that's really what you need to make sure has happened: if you signed the ED PO (and it was properly notarized), you should be all set. My experience tells me it's best NOT to rely on the dealer to discover if the ED PO is in order; you are far better served to call BMW NA about this.
| | Reply » ED Packet | I have a 7/25 ED date, and just signed the multipage Purchase Order (Blue and White Form) Friday, June 24th. Will they send the ED packet after they submit the Purchase Order, or only after I have paid for the vehicle (in two weeks time, no money has yet changed hands). Thanks.
