I haven't seen this on the forum yet.....I hope it helps someone. As others will confirm the options are for total days and not in addition to the N/C 14 days
Registration and Insurance BMW European Delivery provides 14 days of premium insurance and tourist registration with no additional cost to you. However, should you decide to extend this, additional coverage is available for purchase in 30-day increments only. This coverage must extend to your drop-off date and can be arranged through your local BMW Center and must be done in advance to your pick up date. The European Delivery department must be notified a minimum of 2 weeks prior to pick up in Munich in the event of an insurance change. The change of insurance cannot be done upon arrival in Munich.

It might be somewhat off topic.....but tomorrow I am not dropping my 530 at Harms but rather the BMW repair facility here in Munich. While in Bolzano someone wonderful hit both driver side doors with their white doors. I called the BMW insurance agent (Gerling) and they confirmed my 0% deductable on comp claims. A short telephone conversation and FAX arranged the meeting tomorrow. I'll repost when I get back from the experience...

This link has the cost of additional months registration and insurance: http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/5...ance_sched.pdf | I just went through this and, as you say, I discovered that 1. If you buy additional month(s) of insurance, for the first month you are actually buying two weeks or so (that is: the month is prorated taking into account the 14 free days that BMW gives you). So when I bought 2 months I did not end up with 60 days + 14, but just 60 days. Two years ago, when I bought 2 months (same $ amount as this time) I ended up with three. BMW shaved a tiny bit of ED expenses there. (BTW you cannot change your length of stay when you arrive in Munich because of insurance paperwork, but also because it shows on the car's license plate)
2. If you have the car picked up in Italy you must have at least five days of insurance left for the car to be driven back.
