Production complete but still 3/4 of month before pickup
Just checked the production status and it says that the vehicle has completed production. I still have 3 more weeks before I pick it up in Munich. I dont understand if they complete production so fast then why do they make us (customers) wait for this long?

Having the car built 1 month before delivery is standard.

Yep, you loose about a month doing ED. IE: The car just sits there, in your case for 3 weeks before you come and get it. Plus then the time you are actually over there. Then when you drop it, it gets back into the normal shipping phase. But right now it is just sitting, wasting time, not doing you any good whatsoever!

My Ed is scheduled for 7/22, but came off the production line last week. My understanding was that the car needs to sit for a couple of weeks for the paint to cue and it also takes time to deliver it to the ED center. Are these valid reasons?

Not really. For the most part the cars are produced within a couple hour truck ride, and the paint is dried in the paint shop and does not need to "cure" before you can drive it Some like to wait a 3 months or so before they wax it. (But it takes 2 months just to get here).
