Easy as can be and hundreds of posts on this. Try looking around or searching for Venice, Florence, etc... Take Brenner pass over from Munich... it's a pretty quick shot.

Advice: Try not to do a lot of driving around in Florence, especially or Rome. You will not be able to drive around in Venice.

I am staying at Villa Fiesole at the recomendation of many on this board. I have done a couple of map searches and had diffent results. one program had me going right through Florence the other more to the north. I will have the Nav but I thought it might be worth asking here, is there a recomended route to Fiesole (from the north) that avoids driving in Firenze

here is the via Michilin route

Yeah, pretty quick-like 4-5 hours. You'll skirt Innsbruck and then travel through the Dolomites. You could also choose to hit Verona for a night on the way down. Beautiful Alpine scenery. You'll LOVE this drive in your new 7 at 200kph!

I'm doing almost the same itinerary: Munich on 20 July, then Vienna, Venice and ending on Rome on the 25th. I'm trying to get Harms to meet me at my hotel in central Rome, near the Colesium.

I'm gonna be relying on the nav, as I drove in Rome once in the 80s. It's hard, but not impossible in Italian cities (the exception being Venice; we are parking the car in Mestra).
